SPONDON BOWLS CLUB is located at the old Asterdale Leisure Centre, Borrowash Road, Spondon, Derby, DE21 7PH. It has two 'Crown' Greens and a membership of approximately 113 (2020) who enjoy competitive bowling with 19 teams (Male, Female and Mixed) in the South Derbyshire and Belper & District leagues.

Due to the outbreak of Coronavirus and the imposition by the government of 'Lockdown' commencing 23 March there has been no league bowling yet (27 July). Social bowling has taken place under strict conditions. Members have to contact a committee member (at the moment it is Cliff Stevenson) who will allocate a time slot for them to play in and keep a record of all players. This record is submitted to the County Secretary every two weeks so that if required 'Track and Trace' can be undertaken if there is an outbreak of Covid 19 locally. The club is observing the guidance issued to bowls clubs by the BCGBA.
